(A pub I discovered last week in Edinburgh, where all self-respecting Scholas should head for a pint…)
There is Gregorian Chant Network Weekend Chant Course with the legendary Colin Mawby on
April 8th-11th 2011.
As well as being a fantastic opportunity to study with the great master himself, it’s incredibly good value for money.
Full fee £90 per person. £10 discount for members of the Latin Mass Society.
Big discounts for groups coming from affiliated choirs, thanks to sponsorship from the Latin Mass Society.
Two people from one choir: £60 each
Three or more people from one choir: £40
Plus a £10 discount for members of the LMS.
Joseph Shaw says, “With a bit of organisation your singers can take part in the course for £30 each, which is probably cheaper than staying at home!”
As well as sessions for everyone at once, there will be sessions in which ‘beginners’ and ‘advanced’ students are taught separately, so there is no excuse for anyone not to come along.

Sadly l can’t attend, as l am committed in the parish that weekend, but it’s so important that people support events such as this one. They really are a fantastic opportunity not just to learn about Gregorian Chant but to meet Catholics from other parishes around the country all trying to do the same thing…
