Hymns for 14th Sunday of the year

We are back in Ordinary Time after what feels like months of endless celebration and solemnities…  Boo!!!!

Hymns for this week 14th Sunday in Ordinary time that everyone will know:-

All my hope on God is founded

Love divine all love’s excelling

Praise to the holiest in the height

Be thou my vision

Holy God we praise your name

Immortal Invisible

Lord of all hopefulness

Praise we now the Lord our God

The King of Love my Shepherd is

The Lord’s my Shepherd

Hymns some will know and some won’t:

All ye who seek a comfort sure

God your glory we have seen

Jesu lover of my soul

Jesu meek and lowly

O God our help in ages past  (Last time we sang this, I was amazed people didn’t know it.)

Retro hymns for a retro parish:

Oh the love of my Lord – Estelle White

Walk in the light

Christ be beside me

  1. Jacques says:

    Oi! Clare.
Where are your Gregorian hymns? 🙂

I know it’s bad to say “oi” but Wikipedia defines it as: Oi is a slang interjection used in Britain, Ireland, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries to get someone’s attention or to express surprise or disapproval.

  2. Clare says:

Actually, we didn’t sing any of those on Sunday. We had first Holy Communions and therefore celebrated Votive Mass for HE with an interesting selection of music.
Not many parishes get to go from ‘l am the bread of life’ (not my choice) into the Introit – Cibavit Eos.
